Mission Statement
The LKN Krakens is a non-profit 501c3 youth sports organization dedicated to teaching softball fundamentals and life skills. Our volunteers teach the importance of integrity, hard work, sportsmanship, and teamwork through exemplary leadership, positive coaching, and timely communication. It is our goal to prepare girls to learn and play the game of softball in a fun, healthy and safe environment. We emphasize the importance of respect for teammates, opponents, coaches and officials. We not only strive to teach game skills, but life skills, as well as building lasting relationships with good friends. We want every player’s experience to lead her back to play year-after-year with the Krakens.
Formation of the LKN Krakens
The LKN Krakens were founded in May of 2020 by LKN Pitching's Owner, Karen Sherard. Our Founder wanted to form a travel softball organization that valued sportsmanship, fundamentals, athletic development, and where players could form close-knit family-style bonds. The organization is based on the hope that your family will feel like you've found a community that will help you instill the home-based values one would come to expect with positive reinforcement, mental growth, and a place for your athlete to achieve the life-changing goals that today's youth sports so desperately need. In order to instill our Founder's values, we do not tolerate bullying, poor sportsmanship, or problematic behavior to influence how we operate. We believe anyone can form a travel softball team, but having a travel softball team that form's and prepares your athlete for life's challenges...that is where the LKN Krakens thrive.
